The First World War


This course covers the lead-up to the First World War, the main events of the war including trench warfare and major battles, the impact of the war on various aspects such as women's roles, colonial troops, the home front, and the global economy, the peace treaties and the formation of the League of Nations, and the aftermath of the war including its impact on art, literature, national identity, the Middle East, and the global balance of power.
